Colonel Robertson was in charge of the 3rd Battalion /26th Marines from August 8, 1968 to March 3, 1969. Operations that included his 3/26 battalion duing that period were: Operation Owen Mesa, Operation Nicollette Bay, Operation Meade River and Operation Bold Mariner/Russell Beach. All of these were difficult operations requiring him and his marines to overcome formidable opposition. He attended the 2004 3/26 Battalion Reunion in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and the 2005 Kilo 3/26 Reunion in Quantico, Virginia. He was always a gentleman and enjoyed talking and laughing with members of his old battalion. He will be missed.
